Delta smelt are becoming harder and to find in the San Francisco Estuary. Some of suspects their disappearance invasive fish species that were introduced from other places into These can impact new habitat by eating native originally there. However, it is hard understand what eating. We found we use DNA stomachs figure out they have eaten. caught a common Estuary, called Mississippi silverside, analyzed see if matched delta DNA. discovered some silversides had stomachs! therefore believe one culprits causing smelt.
